Ron and Amy Go to Italy
Yikes!!!! The place is haunted!

My Nocturnal Creeping
We went back to our hotel room and relaxed for a while. Amy doesn’t mind walking as long as we have a destination in mind. Me, on the other hand, I will wander around the streets aimlessly until my legs are about to give out. My ambition is to see the world, the whole world, not just the tourist spots. I am fascinated by every little business, street corner, parked car and truck, street sign, bits of debris scrawled with some foreign text left on the sidewalk – I am curious to know if a psychiatrist has ever named this mental disorder. Unfamiliar cities are so much more mysterious at night, they really set my imagination free. The streets are empty and I can pick up the vibrations of the ghosts that still haunt these ancient stones. So much of Florence is a display of public and architecture and it is a completely difference experience when illuminated by street lights and the moon and stars.

On our second night in Florence, Amy was content to spend the evening with her laptop and her secret writing project. I was restless as usual and soon I was exploring the parts of Florence that weren’t on the tourist maps. There was a light rain coming down so the streets were even emptier than the night before. The streets would open up into large empty piazzas lined with massive pillars and arches of stone a thousand years old. I felt like I was wandering inside a de Chirico painting, haunting and other-worldly. I came upon strange graffiti and homeless people sleeping in the shadows and wide tree-lined avenues.
